Great article.....I'm sure losing weight requires both metal and physical adjustments. I'm gonna have to work on that.

Just started IF and down 1 pound in three days, eating the same foods. It might just be a coincidence but time will tell.

And I agree with building muscle mass....it helps to burn fat even after you stop. I also eat very little sugar and I can't believe how much better that makes me feel.

Good luck on your journey, Laura! I swear it works for me. Cutting sugar is also huge. I also eliminated almost all pop. I don't miss it. Please check back in next week and let me know how you are doing!

Will do. Also, my husband and I just recently discovered The Morning Show. We have to limit how many episodes we watch per night so we don't run out.

Right on. Yeah, enjoy the ride. I like any show about journalism. Jen likes Reese and Aniston. It works for us.

At our age not much can be accomplished with our bodies without building and maintaining muscle mass. You don't need to IF. It isn't about calories in and out anymore. You need to eat 150grams of lean healthy protein a day (but no more than 30 grams of protein per hour; that is all our bodies can synthesize), plus healthy carbs (grains and rice).

But, you have to do something to build and maintain muscle. Not talking about getting jacked and looking silly. But building muscle is what will help you burn fat. I do not do these things, so do as I say not as I do.

If you want results, I suggest push-ups, sit-ups, lunges, bicep curls, kettle bell swings. Nothing crazy, but a regimen you can adhere to every day. 20 minutes of circuit training. You don't even need to do cardio because your heart will get a workout in that time.

Thanks, Tom. Agree exercise is part of it. Taking it slow because I don't want to become TOO good-looking too quickly. It would be a lot for the world to handle.

Otherwise, IF is just going to eff with your metabolism and 12 day after you reach 170lbs, you'll be 177lbs and 9 days after that you'll be at 184lbs because your metabolism isn't calibrated to stay at 170lbs.

I want you to succeed, but success isn't reaching scale weight, success is being 170lbs 90 days after you reach your goal weight.

Be like Hanz and Franze! Good luck!

When you get to 170, I think we should throw a party to celebrate and book the Chuck E Cheese band to play. And Jasper T Jowls (lead guitar in the band), will get too high and forget his cue for his rollicking solo on Cat Sitting (the b-side from their Album Chucktober) which will cause Mr Munch (keys and backup vocals) to finally lose it and quit the band. And in the silence of his exit, as Helen Henny (tambourine and vocals) stifles back a year, a gasp is heard in the crowd as Joe Donatelli steps up to the keys and ignites the crowd with the opening chords of Disco Dancing Dinosaur Party (from 2020s Afternoon Fun Break) and the party vibe is restored. That is how I would like to celebrate your success.

Yes. Then we go on tour, and film it, and take it to theaters while I am fake-dating a Kelce. I can see it.

Every morning I recommit to eating just a bit less at each meal. And everyday I blow it around lunch time. I really shouldn’t eat lunch because it hasn’t been that long since I had breakfast before it’s lunch time. I tell myself I only had yogurt for breakfast-but in reality it’s the sugariest, unhealthiest yogurt on the market-so eating lunch will be ok. Then something else will happen and blow me off course after lunch and for the rest of the day. Today, I found out that people with my specific health issues are generally emaciated. Figures, it would be me to be the one complete opposite of emaciated. Which sent me into another spiral tonight. Best of luck dad Joe. I see you for who you are and think you’re doing a pretty fantastic job at life, no matter your weight.

Thanks, Michell. Appreciate you. (Most) yogurt as a health food is the greatest lie the devil ever told.

I discovered that if you mix fat free plain Greek yogurt with no-sugar added canned mixed fruit (yes, there is such a thing) it actually tastes delicious and is 0 points on WW. Lots of protein in Greek yogurt.
