I lived in Chagrin Falls, Beavercreek, and Centerville OH growing up. Never thought of it as rural, I mean, the roads were paved and everything. But my neighbor from across the street was a farmer with a huge cornfield. And you could walk up the hill to the cornfields in that direction…

Luke Perry is from Ohio, and the iconic FFA jacket was created there. That’s all you need to know about the 17th state of the union. Hollywood chic and authentic sodbusters. O-H!

I enjoyed the read. Your comment about Hollywood using Ohio reminded me of the Kent Street shootings and Neil Youngs anti protest/revolution song Ohio. If you replace the word soldier with Doctor, you have a song about Covid.

The soul of Ohio is hidden, and even more terrifying--- Cincinnati !!!

The most terrifying things about Cincinnati is its fast food chili, a dish summoned from the depths of hell and only edible only between the hours of 3 and 4 AM.

I had a college friend at the University of. Kentucky whose mother was the heir to the Skyline Chili franchise. Edible enough for college students. But one day my idiot friend T.K. crashed his motor scooter driving too fast to try and get home before the Percocet kicked in, and the next day we were all at skyline chili and his forehead was all scraped up and he was bleeding into his chili and ever since I’ve not been able to eat that crap.

And even then, only after a night of drinking. Although White Castle is an acceptable alternative.

As a transplant to Ohio, by way of Norfolk, Virginia, originating from Arizona, I approve this message. And in a not so random twist, two of my grandparents, my mom’s dad and my dad’s mom, were born in Ohio and ended up in AZ in the 1950’s.

Aside from the BS weather that changes every 239 seconds, Ohio is a pretty cool place. Specifically SW Ohio.

Agreed. Southwest Ohio is the Northeast Ohio of Southern Ohio.

Can't wait for next week, when the ohio-florida connection is revealed! Lisa M is bringing me an entire 12 0z bag of cocaine instead of the microwave popcorn I put in my instacart!

I am also of Ohio but never would have been had Western PA’s economy not collapsed in the 70’s and early 80s.

In early days we marched everywhere. Back in my day we marched to school and when we got there we marched in the halls. So on and on, later we marched free range to stores to work to church evermore and after quietly stoicly moving to and fro. Go get pizza go to library go go go go. Finally we slowed our roll but events sped up and we became digital marchers looking up web sites onward through the fog.
